Comfort ye, comfort ye my people

Yesterday we had a wonderful Silence Ministry’s event at our church, with presentations made by the deaf/dumb themselves. For my Brazilian Sign Language course, being there took 2 hours from my supervised training, required to finish this semester.

There I heard a beautiful Hebrew song. It was just instrumental, my prefered song style, and in Hebrew, that’s something fascinating to me. It is a hymn of Isaiah 40:1-3. Finally, it’s beautiful!

Nachamu, nachamu ami - Leonardo Gonçalves

Nachamu, nachamu ami
Dabru al lev Yerushalayim
Vekiru eleha
Ki mala tsevaa ki nirtsa avona ki lakcha kichlaym bechol chatotecha
Kol koré bamidbar
Panu dérech ADONAI
Yashru baarava
Messilah IEloheinu

“Comfort ye, comfort ye, My people, saith your God. Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her, That her warfare hath been completed, That accepted hath been her punishment, That she hath received from the hand of JEHOVAH Double for all her sins. A voice is crying — in a wilderness — Prepare ye the way of JEHOVAH, Make straight in a desert a highway to our God.” (Isaiah 40:1-3)

In Christ alone

Posted by Leandro, in Sem categoria on April 20th, 2009

I love this song! That’s the song which is playing right now at the blog footer.

In Christ Alone - Brian Littrell

In Christ alone will I glory
Though I could pride myself in battles won
For I’ve been blessed beyond measure
And by His strength alone I’ll overcome
Oh, I could stop and count successes like diamonds in my hands
But those trophies could not equal to the grace by which I stand

In Christ alone
I place my trust
And find my glory in the power of the cross
In every victory
Let it be said of me
My source of strength
My source of hope
Is Christ alone

In Christ alone do I glory
For only by His grace I am redeemed
For only His tender mercy
Could reach beyond my weakness to my need
And now I seek no greater honor in just to know Him more
And to count my gains but losses to the glory of my Lord

More than flowers

Posted by Leandro, in Sem categoria on February 13th, 2009

Here it is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I will live my life so that I may someday sing it to the person that God have chosen to be my future spouse, who I don’t know yet :)

More than flowersEric e Leslie Ludy
What will it be like

To spend life at your side?

I´m eager to say “I do”

And share my life with you

I want our love to be

Something sweet and heavenly

Moving angels to tears with its simple purity

I want our love to shine,

Be the romance of all time

One that lives love lounder

‘Cause it’s shown with more than flowers

I want you to see me (see me)

living out my love for you daily

I want you to hear me (hear me)

adoring you with every word I speak

I want you to catch me (catch me)

serving you in ways you won’t suppose to see

It’s then you’ll know

Far more than flowers could ever show

What will it be like

To never say good-bye?

To hold you every night,

to love you with my life?

I want our love to be

A taste of eternity,

a picture of God’s grace

Reflection of His face

I want our love to glow, to demonstrate and show

God’s eternal power, shown with more than flowers
